Nahuel was released by Maccabi Haifa after struggling to secure playing time, having made only 24 appearances and scored three goals since signing in 2024. Johor Darul Ta'zim dominated the previous season, finishing 17 points clear at the top of the league. The Malaysian club welcomed Nahuel with a statement expressing excitement to "enjoy football again."
