Maccabi Haifa Targets Center Back and Attacking Midfielder Before Training Camp
Maccabi Haifa are working to finalize their squad ahead of the start of training in about a week, with the club also trying to move on several senior players on high salaries. The main transfer priorities are a center back and an attacking midfielder, and the goal is to reach agreements with two new players before the team leaves for its July training camp.
Among the candidates for center back is MuNash Grananga, who belongs to FC Copenhagen and spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibernian in Scotland. There are several other names being considered for that position as well.
In the attacking midfield role, talks have been underway since January with Karpaty Lviv midfielder Bruninho and Universidad de Chile midfielder Lucas Assadi. Another candidate that emerged this summer is Brazilian midfielder Dudu, who plays for Nautico in Brazil's second division.
One of the loan players expected to begin training with the squad is midfielder Itay Ehud, who had a strong season with Hapoel Kfar Saba. Several Israeli Premier League clubs are interested in signing him.
