EuroLeague Champion Javonte Hawkins Signs One-Year Deal with Hapoel Eilat
Hapoel Eilat has announced the signing of 32-year-old guard Javonte Hawkins for the upcoming season. Standing 1.96 meters tall, Hawkins previously played for Bonn and Subotica, where he won the EuroLeague title with Bonn in 2023 and helped Subotica secure the Serbian league championship last season. He was twice named to the German league's second team while playing for Crailsheim and Bonn in 2020 and 2022, and also earned second-team honors in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2016 during his college career.
Eilat's head coach Oren Aharoni praised Hawkins as an experienced player who has competed with winning European teams. He described Hawkins as a tough guard capable of impacting the game in multiple ways and able to play both guard positions, fitting well with Eilat's backcourt lineup. The signing adds a seasoned and versatile player to Hapoel Eilat's roster ahead of the new Israeli Basketball Premier League season.
