Fifty years after the Israeli cult classic "Givat Halfon Doesn't Answer" became a cornerstone of local culture, a new comedy titled "Giva 338" has been released in cinemas as a tribute to the legendary film. Directed by Erez Ben Harush, the movie features an original plot, new characters, and a wealth of Israeli humor, bringing together some of the country's most beloved entertainment figures for the first time on screen.

Set in 1976 but referencing events from 1967, "Giva 338" revisits a story once set on the Egyptian border, now near Jordan, blending nostalgia with contemporary themes. The plot centers on a small, forgotten military base in the Syrian-African rift valley, where the Chinese government offers Israel a substantial sum to clear the base for a new Silk Road route. The protagonist, Ran Shem Tov, a "disbandment officer," is sent to oversee the evacuation, unaware of a mysterious bunker beneath the base causing delays and uniting soldiers against internal and external threats.
