Infant Dies After Choking on Plastic Bag in Bnei Brak Home

A six-month-old infant tragically died after choking on a plastic bag at his home in Bnei Brak. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) and Hatzalah arrived at the scene and performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, ventilation, medication administration, and defibrillation. Despite these efforts, the infant was transported in critical condition to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, where his death was later confirmed on Thursday evening.

Paramedic Shimon Kalpner from MDA reported that upon arrival, the infant was unconscious, without pulse or breathing. Hatzalah teams also described performing advanced life-saving procedures, including the use of a defibrillator, before transferring the infant to the hospital's shock room for continued treatment. Unfortunately, all attempts to save the child were unsuccessful, and his death was officially declared at the hospital.

This incident highlights the dangers of plastic bags around young children and the rapid response by emergency services in Bnei Brak. The infant's death is a tragic loss for the family and community.
