Police Investigate Murder of Eldar Dayan After Bloodied Car Found at Gas Station

The investigation into the disappearance and death of 22-year-old Eldar Dayan from Dimona began with a phone call to the police emergency line reporting a suspicious vehicle. A citizen alerted the police to a car abandoned at a Paz gas station near Yarkonim Junction, describing its shattered windshield and visible blood stains. The caller did not witness the occupants leaving but relayed information from others. The vehicle was later identified as belonging to the mother of one of the two suspects in the case.

Blood stains found in the car were initially thought to be Dayan's but were later linked to one of his two friends, Omri David Peretz and Maxim Barberman, with whom Dayan had spent time before disappearing. Dayan had sent a brief WhatsApp message to his girlfriend saying "chaos, we'll talk" before losing contact. His body was discovered approximately 200 meters from the gas station in an open area, along with clothing and a bracelet believed to belong to him.

Following the discovery, the investigation was transferred from the Dimona police station to the Sharon District Unit (YAMAR Sharon), which intensified the search and evidence collection. The two friends have been detained on suspicion of murder, with their arrest extended by six days. Authorities are now focused on reconstructing Dayan's final hours to determine the circumstances that led to his tragic death.
