Mossad Chief Removes Two Senior Officials After Failed Iran Regime Change Plan

Roman Gofman, head of the Mossad, has dismissed two senior officials following the failure of an operational plan aimed at toppling the Iranian regime. The officials removed are the head of the intelligence directorate, who assumed the role in December, and the head of the Iran division. According to security sources cited by Channel 12 on Thursday, there was a lack of chemistry between Gofman and the two since the start of his tenure, but their removal was directly linked to the failed operation.

The two officials were key architects of the plan, which was reportedly presented to then-US President Donald Trump but ultimately never executed. Although their departure was reportedly by mutual agreement, defense sources view the move as holding them accountable for the plan's failure. Despite this, the officials’ contributions to Israel’s security were acknowledged as significant.
