Peace Council for Gaza Issues First Construction Contract for Moroccan Troop Outpost

The Peace Council for the Gaza Strip has issued its first construction contract for a military outpost designed to house 150 soldiers from Morocco. According to a source familiar with the details who spoke to the British Guardian, the contract has not yet received final approval. It was awarded to Arkel International, a company with prior experience working for the U.S. government in countries such as Iraq. The planned base will cover an area of 100 by 120 meters and is intended to accommodate a Moroccan military unit rotating from a base in Israel. The source added that the outpost will be located within the Gaza Strip, in an area under Israeli control approximately 1.6 kilometers from the border, and will feature a "rapid evacuation route" in case the small force comes under attack.
