Moroccan Military Officers Conduct First-Ever Visit to Gaza Ahead of Multinational Force Deployment

A delegation of approximately 30 Moroccan military officers entered the Gaza Strip for the first time on Wednesday, marking the initial field visit by Morocco's army to the area where its troops are expected to operate. This visit is part of preparations for the deployment of Moroccan forces as well as Morocco's role in hosting and managing training exercises for the multinational force slated to operate in Gaza, according to reports from Kan News.

Originally, the establishment training for the multinational force was planned to take place in Jordan. However, due to escalating tensions with Iran and the increased targeting of U.S. bases in the Middle East, the training was relocated to Morocco. Israeli sources indicate that Morocco is taking the mission seriously, having sent officers to the multinational command and to Israel, positioning itself as the most significant army ready to operate in Gaza post-conflict.

Despite plans and readiness to begin constructing the multinational force's base in Gaza at any moment, the Israeli political leadership has yet to grant the necessary green light. This delay stems from Israel's decision not to advance future plans in Gaza until Hamas fulfills its commitment to disarm. The situation remains tense, with mediators insisting on Hamas's disarmament amid ongoing political developments, including the resignation of the Hamas government and efforts to strengthen its position in Gaza.
