Hadar Mukhtar Awaits Netanyahu's Decision on Shortening Her Eligibility for Likud Primaries

Hadar Mukhtar is currently awaiting a decision from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the shortening of her eligibility period to run in the upcoming Likud party primaries scheduled for next month. In an interview with News 14 presenter Tal Meir, Mukhtar expressed confidence that Netanyahu will approve the request, stating, "The approval should come tomorrow, he will give it, we trust him." This development follows a significant show of support from within the party, where 120 senior Likud officials, including mayors, council heads, branch managers, and central committee members, formally petitioned Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz to approve the reduction of Mukhtar's probation period.

The petition, accompanied by a signed legal affidavit, highlighted Mukhtar's exceptional dedication and contributions to the party since her discharge from the Israel Defense Forces. It noted her efforts in recruiting over 1,000 new party members, extensive grassroots campaigning for the 26th Knesset elections, and consistent presence at party events. The signatories emphasized that Mukhtar's activism has strengthened Likud's appeal among young voters nationwide, a demographic the party aims to engage more deeply.

Supporters argue that Likud has historically welcomed young, committed activists and that Mukhtar has proven herself worthy of full participation in party activities. Despite her achievements and backing, Mukhtar remains outside the primaries pending Netanyahu's final decision. She remains optimistic about her chances and is preparing to compete for a spot, aiming to bring fresh, youthful energy to the party's ranks.
