Right-Wing Activist Hadar Mukhtar Faces Setback in Likud Primaries Over Ballot Approval

Hadar Mukhtar, a right-wing activist and social media figure, recently submitted her candidacy for the Likud party primaries, aiming to secure a spot on the party's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Mukhtar requires a special ballot approval (Pazam) from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to officially run, but recent reports indicate she is unlikely to receive this endorsement. Despite this, Mukhtar remains hopeful and publicly expressed her trust in Netanyahu, emphasizing her ability to mobilize young voters who are participating in elections for the first time.

Mukhtar highlighted her connection with younger generations, stating she speaks their language and has worked hard for over a year supporting the right-wing and Likud. She is already preparing for post-primaries work, eager to contribute to the Likud campaign by bringing new voters to the polls and strengthening the party's bloc.

As a new party member, Mukhtar must obtain Netanyahu's approval to appear on the ballot. While initial reports suggested Netanyahu might grant this, the Likud party has now reportedly decided against shortening her Pazam. Even if she secures the approval, Mukhtar would compete for the "new woman" slot, which the Likud Constitution Conference placed at the unrealistic 48th position on the list, making her chances of entering the Knesset very slim according to all polls.
