Right-Wing Activist Hadar Muchtar Awaits Netanyahu's Approval to Run in Likud Primaries

Hadar Muchtar, a right-wing activist and social media figure, recently submitted her candidacy for the Likud party primaries, aiming to become one of its representatives in the next Knesset. To officially run, she requires a shortened party membership period (Pazam) approval from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which currently appears unlikely to be granted. Despite reports that Netanyahu might approve her request, recent updates indicate he has decided against it.

In an Instagram post, Muchtar expressed her trust in Netanyahu, stating she is confident he will approve her Pazam because she can mobilize first-time young voters for Likud. She emphasized her year-long dedication to the right-wing and the party, and her readiness to immediately start campaigning after the primaries to expand the party's voter base. Muchtar also highlighted her belief in Netanyahu's leadership and expressed strong support for him.

Even if she secures the Pazam and passes the primaries, Muchtar faces another challenge: the Likud party's constitutional committee placed the "new woman" slot, which she aims for, at the 48th position on the list. Given current polling, this ranking is unlikely to secure her a Knesset seat.

Muchtar's candidacy and the internal party dynamics reflect ongoing efforts within Likud to attract new voters, especially younger demographics, while balancing established political structures and leadership decisions.
