Maccabi Ramat Gan Signs Guard/Forward L.J. Figueroa as Fourth Foreign Player

Maccabi Ramat Gan officially announced the signing of L.J. Figueroa, a 28-year-old Dominican guard/forward standing 1.98 meters tall, as their fourth foreign player ahead of the upcoming basketball season. Figueroa, returning for his second stint in Israel, previously played for Hapoel Be'er Sheva late last season, appearing in 10 games with averages of 18.7 points, 2.4 assists, and 27.6 minutes per game. His standout performance was a 27-point game against Maccabi Ramat Gan in May, leading Be'er Sheva to a 101-95 home victory.

Figueroa brings experience from the NBA G League, having played for the Santa Cruz Warriors and Mexico City Capitanes. He joins fellow foreign signings guard Ahmed Kayber (29, 1.88 m) from the G League, power forward Justin Lewis also from the G League, and forward/center Bryce Washington, who played last season in South Korea. These additions complement returning Israeli players Gil Bnei and Yonatan Atias, as well as new Israeli signings Joaquin Shuchman, Lior Carrera, and Roy Pritzky.

Coach Elad Hassin emphasized the team's focus on building a strong identity with quality character and mental toughness. He highlighted Figueroa's scoring ability, versatility, and positive attitude, noting his prior experience playing alongside Kayber in the G League as a valuable asset. Hassin outlined the team's strategy to play fast-paced, aggressive defense and an up-tempo offense that emphasizes team play and mutual support, aiming to be a tough opponent that fans will enjoy watching.

Maccabi Ramat Gan is set to begin official training on August 25, preparing for the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season with a roster blending experienced foreign players and promising Israeli talent.
