Heatwave Eases Slightly in Israel with Temperatures Near Seasonal Norms

Following a cloudy morning, Israel will experience clearer skies and a slight drop in temperatures on Thursday, bringing conditions closer to seasonal averages. Despite this relief, temperatures will remain somewhat above normal, especially in the mountains and inland areas. The Meteorological Service issued an unusual red warning for extreme heat in the Jordan Valley and orange warnings for the Dead Sea, Arava, and the valleys.

On Friday, partly cloudy skies will give way to clearer weather with a further slight temperature decrease, returning most regions to typical seasonal levels. However, on Saturday, the weather will again warm slightly, increasing heat stress across much of the country.

Temperature forecasts for Thursday and Friday include Jerusalem at 18-30°C, Tel Aviv 24-32°C, Beersheba 23-33°C, Haifa 23-31°C, Tiberias 22-36°C, Safed 20-30°C, and Eilat 30-41°C. Nighttime conditions will be partly cloudy.

The heat warnings highlight ongoing concerns about extreme temperatures in specific areas, despite the overall easing of the heatwave. Residents are advised to remain cautious, especially in the Jordan Valley and surrounding regions where the highest heat stress is expected.
