Israel Faces Rising Temperatures and Severe Heat Stress Across the Country

On Thursday, Israel is experiencing a slight increase in temperatures with heavy heat stress expected throughout much of the country. The weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with the temperature rise most notable in the mountainous regions and inland areas. Heavy heat stress conditions are forecasted for most regions, with extreme heat stress anticipated in the valleys, the Jordan Rift Valley, the Judean Desert, and the Arava.

Afternoon hours will bring gusty winds along the coastal plain. Temperature forecasts for key locations include 22-35°C in Kiryat Shmona, 24-31°C in Haifa, 23-36°C in Tiberias, 23-35°C in Afula, 24-31°C in Netanya, 25-32°C in Tel Aviv, 18-31°C in Jerusalem, 23-34°C in Beersheba, 24-32°C in Ashkelon, 21-33°C in Mitzpe Ramon, and a high of 41°C in Eilat.
