Train service disrupted in northern Israel during morning rush hour

Israel Railways said on Sunday morning that train traffic was temporarily halted between several stations in the Haifa area after a track disruption. The stoppage came as thousands of commuters were on their way to work, and passengers also reported delays on trains heading south.

The affected stations were Haifa Hof HaCarmel, Bat Galim, Merkaz HaShmona and Merkazit HaMifratz. The company advised travelers in the area to consider using alternative transportation.

Israel Railways said trains coming from the north would terminate at Merkazit HaMifratz, while trains from the south would start and end service at Haifa Hof HaCarmel. The company added, “Railway teams are working to restore train service to normal.”
