Train service disrupted in Haifa area during morning rush hour
Israel Railways said on Sunday morning that train traffic was temporarily halted between several stations in the Haifa area because of a track disruption. The suspension came as tens of thousands of commuters were on their way to work.
The affected stations were Haifa Hof HaCarmel, Bat Galim, Merkaz HaShmona and Kiryat Motzkin's Central HaMifratz station. The railway company advised passengers in those areas to consider alternative transportation.
Passengers also reported delays on southbound trains as the northern disruption rippled through the network. Israel Railways said trains coming from the north would end their journeys at Central HaMifratz, while trains from the south would start and finish at Haifa Hof HaCarmel.
"Railway teams are working to restore train traffic to normal," the company said. The report was published on June 14, 2026 at 07:22 and updated at 07:48.
