Train service between Haifa and central Israel disrupted after metal falls from freight car
Israel Railways said on Sunday that train traffic was temporarily suspended between several Haifa-area stations after a track disruption caused by several metal parts that fell from a freight train car. The affected stations were Haifa Hof HaCarmel, Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Center HaShmona, and the Merkazit HaMifratz station.
The company said the incident is under review and being investigated. It did not say when full service would resume.
Israel Railways also reported broader changes to train routes and frequencies in northern Israel. Passengers were advised to consider alternative transportation because of the disruption, which caused congestion at stations after train service was canceled.
