Court Extends Detention of Suspect in Stone-Throwing Attack on News 12 Building

Abraham Hadi, suspected of throwing stones at the News 12 building in Tel Aviv and leaving threatening letters, had his detention extended by five days following a court hearing on August 3, 2026. The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court approved the police request for continued detention to allow further investigation. Authorities allege that Hadi smashed glass doors at the News 12 entrance and left a letter containing threats against media personnel and public figures. Additional accusations include extortion by threats, obstruction of justice, intentional property damage, and vandalism. He is also suspected of spraying threatening graffiti outside the News 13 offices.

Since the previous detention extension, police reported gathering new evidence strengthening the case against Hadi. During interrogation, he exercised his right to remain silent. The investigation is led by the Dan District Crime Fighting Unit with involvement from the Shin Bet due to the severity of the incidents. Investigators continue to examine all alleged acts and the motives behind them.
