Israeli Police Extend Detention of Suspect in Stone-Throwing Attack on Channel 12 News Building

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended the detention of Abraham Hadi by four days on Friday. Hadi is suspected of throwing stones at the entrance of the Channel 12 news building on HaHashkala Boulevard in Tel Aviv, breaking glass doors, and leaving a threatening letter at the scene before fleeing. The letter demanded an apology related to the Shde Yemen affair and included threats targeting public figures, security officials, and media personnel.

Hadi was arrested following a joint investigation by the Tel Aviv Central Unit, the Ayalon Crime Fighting Unit, and the Shin Bet. Police suspect he is also involved in additional vandalism incidents targeting media outlets and public figures, including attacks on the Haaretz newspaper offices. The Shin Bet joined the investigation due to the severity of these events.

This is not Hadi's first run-in with the law over similar offenses; he was previously detained on suspicion of spraying threatening graffiti against Channel 13. The police continue to investigate whether he is connected to other recent attacks on media organizations. Earlier this month, the Channel 12 building was also targeted when an unknown assailant threw a brick at its entrance and fled.

The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of Hadi's involvement in these attacks against Israeli media and public figures, reflecting heightened tensions and threats against press institutions.
