Israeli Singer Nono Releases Previously Shelved Album 'The Hidden' Nearly Two Years Later

Israeli singer Nono (Naomi Aharoni-Gal) released her new album "The Hidden" on Wednesday morning. Originally recorded as her second album, the project was shelved following the outbreak of war but is now being officially released. The creative process began in summer 2022, shortly after the success of her debut album "Status" and the hit single "Cute Boy." Nono and producer Ilai Ashdot recorded the album's songs in a makeshift studio they set up in Greece.

After about a year of work, the project was put on hold following the October 7 massacre, with Nono deciding not to release it as planned at that time. Alongside the album release, the single "Night" was also launched this morning. The song directly addresses Nono's longing for her late father, marking the first time she has openly explored this personal theme in her music. The single is accompanied by a music video co-directed by Nono and Adam Gabay.

Reflecting on the new single from the previously shelved album, Nono said, "Something in my soul has changed," adding that the song feels as if it was written today. The album's release revives a project deeply connected to post-trauma themes, resonating with current emotional realities.
