Israeli Musician Nono Celebrates Five Years in Career with Special Shows and Reflects on Challenges

Israeli musician Naomi Aharoni Gal, known as Nono, is marking five years in her music career with sold-out performances at the Barby club in Tel Aviv. On August 22, 2026, she held a special show featuring guest artists Static, Guy Mazig, and Guri Alfi, who surprised her on stage with a cake. Due to high demand, an additional concert is scheduled for December 2, promising more guests and surprises.

In an interview with Walla Culture, Nono shared that one of her career highlights was opening for Maroon 5 at Park HaYarkon, describing it as one of the happiest days of her life. She also revealed the toughest moments, including the emotional impact of the October 7 events and the difficult decision to shelve an album she had worked on for a year. That album, initially planned for release in 2023, was finally released earlier this month under the title "The Shelved."

Nono confirmed she has no plans to change her stage name or artistic identity, emphasizing that her work is deeply personal and authentic. Looking ahead, she plans to continue her celebratory tour beyond the Barby, performing at various festivals such as IndieNegev, Smilansky Festival, and the Piano Festival in Eilat. Creatively, she is currently focusing on introspection and songwriting to determine her next artistic direction.

When asked who might bring her a cake at her ten-year celebration, she joked about various friends but expressed a wish that Maroon 5's Adam Levine would do it. Nono also noted she will soon turn 28 and hopes to avoid the so-called "27 club."
