Hapoel Tel Aviv Delays Douglas Awusu Signing Amid Extended Medical Tests
Douglas Awusu, the 20-year-old Ghanaian winger, has agreed to terms with Hapoel Tel Aviv, but the club is exercising extra caution due to his medical history. The club has expanded the usual medical examinations beyond the standard checks for new signings, which has delayed the finalization of his contract. Awusu underwent comprehensive tests yesterday, and the club expects to receive the results today, hoping everything will be clear to proceed with the signing.
This is Awusu's second transfer attempt this summer. Earlier, he was set to join Viktoria Plzeň for 3.3 million euros, but the deal fell through in May after a knee injury was discovered. Hapoel Tel Aviv is therefore taking additional precautions to avoid similar issues before officially completing the transfer.
