Mohamed Salah Nears Deal to Join Turkish Club Trabzonspor

Mohamed Salah, one of Liverpool's greatest players and a standout free agent, is reportedly close to signing with Turkish club Trabzonspor for the upcoming season. According to international transfer journalist Sasha Tavoularis, Salah will join the team after leaving Liverpool, where he won two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. Last season, Salah scored seven goals and provided seven assists, while in the 2024/25 campaign he netted 29 goals and assisted 18, helping Liverpool secure an unexpected English league title.

Turkish media report that Salah is expected to arrive in Istanbul tomorrow at noon. As part of the deal, he will receive 20% of the profits from all merchandise bearing his name or image. The 34-year-old winger, who recently reached the World Cup round of 16 with his national team, has been linked to several Turkish clubs but is set to join Trabzonspor, which finished third in the Turkish league and will compete in the Europa League playoffs. Trabzonspor might face Ferencváros, where Israeli player Gabi Kanichovsky plays.

Salah is expected to earn a net salary of 17.5 million euros per season, up from the 14 million euros he made at Liverpool after taxes, with a substantial signing bonus also anticipated. Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed the club's interest but denied active negotiations. Salah also attracted interest from Besiktas but appears set to join the strengthening Trabzonspor squad, which includes players like John Lundstram, Ozan Tufan, experienced Stefan Savic, and Cape Verde standout Sidney Cabral, who impressed at the World Cup.
