Mohamed Salah Nears Deal to Join Turkish Club Trabzonspor

Mohamed Salah, one of Liverpool's greatest players and a top free agent, is reportedly close to signing with Turkish club Trabzonspor for the upcoming season. According to international transfer reporter Sasha Tavoularis, Salah left Liverpool after a successful tenure that included two Premier League titles and a Champions League victory. In the 2024/25 season, Salah scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists, playing a key role in Liverpool's unexpected league triumph.

Turkish media report that Salah is expected to arrive in Istanbul tomorrow at noon. As part of the deal, he will receive 20% of the profits from merchandise bearing his name or image. The 34-year-old winger, who helped Egypt reach the World Cup round of 16, has been linked to several Turkish clubs but is set to join Trabzonspor, which finished third in the Turkish league and will compete in the Europa League playoffs. Trabzonspor could face Ferencváros, featuring Israeli player Gabi Kanichovsky, in the playoffs.

Salah is expected to earn a net salary of 17.5 million euros per season, an increase from the 14 million euros he earned at Liverpool after taxes. A significant signing bonus is also anticipated. Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan stated the club desires to sign Salah but claimed no active negotiations are underway. Salah has also attracted interest from Besiktas but appears likely to join the strengthening Trabzonspor squad, which includes players like John Lundstram, Ozan Tufan, veteran Stefan Savic, and Cape Verde standout Sidney Cabral.
