Israeli Couple Uses Children to Steal Over 100,000 Shekels During Family Vacation in Eilat

A couple in their 30s from Haifa turned their family vacation in Eilat into a systematic theft operation, stealing goods worth over 100,000 shekels from various stores across the resort city. Accompanied by their three young children, including a one-year-old infant, the parents actively involved their 8- and 9-year-old children in the thefts. The infant was used to conceal stolen merchandise inside her stroller, allowing the couple to move freely among store shelves without suspicion.

The police investigation began about two weeks ago after multiple complaints from local business owners reported a recurring pattern of a family entering shops and stealing high-value items under the guise of a casual shopping trip. The Eilat police gathered evidence from different stores and testimonies, linking the thefts to the couple. After weeks of thorough investigation, the police built a solid case against them.

Security footage released by the police shows the couple inside a sports and clothing store, with the woman selecting items and removing shoe boxes from shelves while the man hides stolen goods in the stroller. Their children were present throughout, witnessing the criminal acts. Following the investigation, the police prosecution unit filed 15 indictments against the couple. The father was arrested and remains in custody pending legal proceedings.

This case raises serious concerns about the psychological impact on the children, who were exposed to criminal behavior at a very young age during what was supposed to be an innocent family holiday.
