Search Underway for Missing Man in His 40s at Sea of Galilee

On Monday, extensive search efforts are ongoing at the Sea of Galilee after a man in his 40s reportedly entered the water and has since gone missing. The man left his belongings at the Tefenaz Beach area, and no trace of him has been found since. The search operation involves the Sea Patrol Unit, Northern District police, an aerial unit helicopter, and additional rescue teams.

This incident follows a similar case last August when the body of 38-year-old Tel Aviv resident Shlomi Banai was found in the Sea of Galilee after days of searching. Banai had entered the water on a stand-up paddleboard near the Mosh Beach area and disappeared. His body was recovered by the Sea Patrol and emergency medical teams who confirmed his death at the scene.

David Fachima, a paramedic from Magen David Adom present during the recovery of Banai, described the rescue attempt and the medical checks that confirmed the man was deceased. Authorities continue to coordinate their efforts to locate the current missing man and have placed warning signs about underwater hazards at the lake's bottom to enhance safety.

The search remains active as rescue teams comb the area for any sign of the missing individual.
