Search Underway for Missing Man Who Entered Sea of Galilee Waters
Israeli police and rescue teams launched a search on Monday morning for a man in his 40s who disappeared after entering the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret). The man reportedly left his belongings on the shore at the Tarfaz beach area before vanishing without a trace. Authorities began the search following a report that the individual had entered the water earlier that day.
The search operation involves the Sea of Galilee maritime police unit, northern district police officers, an aerial unit helicopter, and additional rescue forces. Medics from United Hatzalah are also conducting searches along nearby beaches. Yossi Oknin, head of the United Hatzalah branch in Tiberias, stated that rescue teams are currently using a sonar system from a rescue boat to locate the missing man underwater. Further updates are expected as the search continues.
