Sanz Yeshivas in Netanya and Haifa Begin Winter Study Period Early Amid Renovations
The Sanz yeshivas in Kiryat Sanz, Netanya, and Haifa inaugurated their winter study period, known as 'Zman Hachoref,' ahead of most other yeshivas, which remain in the interim 'bein hazmanim' break. Hundreds of students, inspired by the legacy of the Sanz founder, the late Admor Baal Shefa Chaim, and guided by the current Admor of Sanz, began their special study schedule on Sunday with renewed spiritual energy and a strong sense of mission.
This year's opening is marked by renewal and expansion of holiness, coinciding with extensive renovations at the main yeshiva building, "HaMetivta." Due to these works, the students temporarily relocated to the large Rosenberg Hall, where they joyfully gathered. The community eagerly anticipates the completion of the renovated Metivta building in the coming days, after which the students will return to their permanent study halls.
The yeshiva halls in Kiryat Sanz, long-standing beacons of Torah study and effort, were festively adorned. Inside the study halls, the familiar and beloved sounds of Torah learning resonated, reflecting the students' deep thirst to return to their studies and engage with complex Talmudic discussions. The decision to start the study period early reflects the unique Sanz ethos that prioritizes Torah study above all.
For the students, transitioning from the vacation period to the structured yeshiva schedule represents a personal advancement, reaffirming their commitment to diligence and perseverance as modeled by their predecessors. After settling into their dormitories and reviewing the yeshiva's guidelines emphasizing the path to success in Torah and reverence for God, the students convened for a special study session filled with vibrant Torah learning. Central to the opening was a speech by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yosef Moshe Dov Halberstam, who combined pure reverence for God with a call for greatness in Torah study. He blessed the students and provided spiritual guidance, emphasizing the significant responsibility they bear as Torah scholars continuing the sacred chain.
