Sanz Hasidic Community Opens First Small Yeshiva in Tiberias After 14 Years

Fourteen years after the Sanz Rebbe established the Sanz community in Tiberias, the first small yeshiva of the Hasidic group has officially opened in the city. Dozens of young students began their studies at the new yeshiva during the month of Elul, marking a historic milestone for the community. The yeshiva currently hosts about 30 select students who form the founding core of the institution.

The opening ceremony included inspiring remarks from Rabbi Avraham Halberstam, the community rabbi of Sanz in Tiberias and the surrounding regions, who encouraged the students as "pioneers at the forefront" laying the spiritual foundation of the yeshiva. Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Frenkel, a respected spiritual leader and veteran educator from the Sanz community in Safed, was appointed as the yeshiva's spiritual director and officially inaugurated the learning period.

The yeshiva is temporarily housed in a specially prepared and equipped hall on the outskirts of the community while extensive renovations and preparations are underway for its permanent building, which is expected to open soon in full glory. The Sanz community in Tiberias, founded in 2012 as part of a religious settlement initiative in northern Israel, celebrates 14 years of growth and now sees the emergence of its first yeshiva students actively engaging in Torah study.

Residents of the community and the city have expressed great excitement at hearing the sounds of Torah learning emanating from the yeshiva, hoping for continued success and expansion of the institution under divine guidance.
