Kiryat Malakhi Synagogue Opens Permanent Home After Three Years in Tents
The 'Ayelet HaShachar' community in Kiryat Malakhi is celebrating the opening of its permanent synagogue and study hall, marking the end of a difficult three-year period. During this time, congregants were forced to hold prayers and study sessions in temporary tents, enduring harsh weather conditions and logistical challenges.
The community's rabbi, Rabbi Yitzhak Avrahamovitch, is credited with leading the community through the hardship, maintaining morale, and guiding the efforts to secure a permanent location. The breakthrough came through the dedicated work of Rabbi Ariel Sharabi, a representative of the community, who collaborated closely with Mayor Eliyahu (Lulu) Zohar.
Mayor Zohar actively supported the community's plight, working diligently to obtain the necessary approvals for the new building to open before the High Holy Days. In addition to the synagogue, the mayor also facilitated the allocation of two new classrooms for the community's Talmud Torah (elementary school), benefiting dozens of young students.
The community expressed its gratitude to Mayor Zohar, wishing him good health, long life, and continued success in his efforts to strengthen religious and educational institutions in Kiryat Malakhi.
