Jerusalem Man Charged for Violating Protection Order by Tracking Ex-Partner's Car

Police in Jerusalem have completed their investigation into a 45-year-old East Jerusalem resident accused of violating a protection order by attaching a tracking device to his ex-partner's vehicle. The woman noticed the suspect removing the device from her car, prompting her to file a complaint. Authorities say the suspect followed her movements and visited locations where she stayed, actions that also constitute an invasion of her privacy.

The suspect was arrested and his detention has been extended until August 3, 2026, when prosecutors plan to file formal charges against him. Amir Suad, head of the cybercrime unit at the Shafat police station, stated that the suspect's behavior posed a real danger to the victim. He emphasized that the Israeli police are committed to combating all forms of violence, harassment, and threats to victims' safety and will continue to ensure accountability for offenders.
