Jerusalem Man Charged with Car Theft Using Vehicle Computer and Break-In Tools

The Jerusalem District Police have completed the investigation of a 27-year-old East Jerusalem resident suspected of involvement in two separate car theft incidents in the city. According to the investigation, the suspect collaborated with others to steal vehicles, using a vehicle computer and specialized break-in tools. In one case, he stole a car from a street in Jerusalem and sold it to others for 3,000 shekels. Evidence collected by police linked him to this theft.

In a second incident investigated by the Shalem station in the Kdem area, the suspect attempted to steal another vehicle parked on a Jerusalem street. He broke the car window with a dedicated device, entered the vehicle, and tried to start it. The car owner arrived during the attempt, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. Police quickly located and arrested him, bringing him in for questioning at the Shalem station.

Following the completion of the investigation and the establishment of a solid evidentiary basis, the police filed an indictment against the suspect for both the theft and attempted theft cases. The charges were submitted by the Jerusalem District Police prosecution unit.
