Jerusalem Man Faces Charges for Business Burglaries and Theft Spree
Jerusalem police have filed a statement of charges against a 49-year-old Jerusalem resident suspected of involvement in a series of burglaries and thefts from businesses in the city center over the past two months. The investigation indicates that items valued at tens of thousands of shekels were stolen, including cash, a safe, mobile phones, wine bottles, and bicycles.
The suspect was arrested on September 12th after officers observed him with bicycles believed to be stolen. It was also discovered that an active arrest warrant was outstanding against him. When officers attempted to detain him, the suspect tried to flee and resisted arrest but was apprehended after a short pursuit.
The Jerusalem District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment against him in court in the coming days. His detention has been extended until Friday, September 18th, 2026.
