Jerusalem Man Detained Over Alleged Abuse of Minors During Outings
Jerusalem police are conducting a sensitive and complex investigation into a 62-year-old local man suspected of committing serious offenses against minors. The suspect was arrested about two weeks ago and has had his detention repeatedly extended by the court to allow further investigative actions. His detention was most recently extended until July 26, 2026, to enable ongoing covert operations and to locate additional victims.
According to police findings, the suspect allegedly gained the trust of children by gradually building relationships, taking them on trips and meetings in various locations. Exploiting their trust and innocence, he is suspected of committing severe abuses. Authorities believe there are likely more victims who have not yet come forward.
The police have released the suspect’s photo and details of the case to encourage victims or anyone with relevant information to come forward promptly. They urge anyone affected or with knowledge to report to the Lev HaBira police station or the nearest station, or to contact the police hotline at 100 or the investigating unit directly at 02-5391550. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to uncover the full extent of the alleged offenses.
