Mordechai Ben David Sparks Outrage with Violent Remarks Against Avigdor Lieberman

Mordechai Ben David, a prominent Hasidic singer, ignited controversy on social media after making a shocking statement about Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party. In a podcast interview with journalist Shlomi Zayanz, published in the 'Hashtiblach' group, Ben David addressed claims that the late Rebbe of Rivanitz was Lieberman's mohel (ritual circumciser) during his childhood. Ben David said, "I think he was circumcised in the wrong place. They should have cut off his head instead."

The podcast host laughed but quickly distanced himself from the harsh comment, noting that despite Lieberman's alleged dislike of religious Jews, he still shows respect for the Rivanitz rebbetzin. Ben David responded by mentioning documented photos of Lieberman visiting the Rivanitz Rebbe's gravesite multiple times. He concluded on a more conciliatory note, expressing hope that Lieberman would fully repent.

The remarks provoked strong backlash online and from Yisrael Beiteinu. The party condemned the statement, saying, "The Rivanitz Rebbe would be ashamed that his name is used to spread hatred and incite violence against Avigdor Lieberman. This is a moral disgrace; common decency comes before Torah! We believe in our voters and will end evasion and restore order in the country after the upcoming elections."
