Hapoel Jerusalem Negotiates to Sign Midfielder Omer Abuhav
Hapoel Jerusalem is currently in negotiations to sign 22-year-old central midfielder Omer Abuhav, who recently became a free agent after his contract with Bnei Sakhnin expired. Abuhav, who developed through the youth systems of Maccabi Petah Tikva, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Hapoel Tel Aviv, has played two seasons in the Israeli Premier League with Sakhnin.
During the last season, Abuhav made 24 league appearances and provided one assist. Over his entire tenure at Sakhnin, he totaled 48 Premier League appearances and two assists. Prior to joining Sakhnin in the summer of 2024, he spent two years playing in the National League with Hapoel Ramat Gan.
Hapoel Jerusalem, coached by Lior Zada, is preparing for their second Toto Cup match against Maccabi Petah Tikva on Sunday evening in Rehovot. The club is looking to strengthen its midfield and sees Abuhav as a potential addition to their squad. Since the end of last season, Abuhav has been a free agent, making him available for transfer.
