Undecided Voters Holding 15 Knesset Seats Could Decide Israel's Upcoming Election

A new poll released by Channel 12, about three months before Israel's elections, reveals a significant portion of undecided voters who could sway the results. Currently, 48% of respondents support parties opposing Benjamin Netanyahu, while 12% remain undecided, representing roughly 600,000 citizens equivalent to 15 Knesset seats. Among these undecided voters, 55% lean toward candidates opposing Netanyahu, potentially adding eight seats to the opposition bloc, whereas 16% favor Netanyahu and 29% are unsure.

The poll also explored preferences within Netanyahu's coalition voters if he were not the candidate, with half unable to name an alternative. Among those who did, Gadi Eizenkot, leader of the Yisrael party, leads with 45% support. Security remains the top issue influencing voters, with 54% citing it as their primary concern, followed by 34% prioritizing Israel's economic situation.

Regarding voting motivations, 58% of respondents said their choice depends mainly on the party leader's identity, compared to 30% who focus on the candidate list. Within the opposition bloc, Eizenkot is the preferred alternative leader with 45% support, followed by Naftali Bennett at 33% and Avigdor Lieberman at 12%. These dynamics highlight the critical role undecided voters and leadership preferences will play in shaping the election outcome.
