Hamas Begins Distributing Rifles to Gaza Operatives Amid Ceasefire Agreement Talks

A Palestinian source told Kan News that Hamas has recently started distributing rifles to its operatives in the Gaza Strip. The weapons are intended to remain in their possession under the guise of personal arms. The source emphasized, "Hamas will not disarm. Period." This report was broadcast on Saturday evening by Kan News.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Peace Council expressed displeasure with Israeli criticism regarding the details of the agreement signed with Hamas. On Thursday, a diplomatic source revealed opposition to the deal, while an Israeli official insisted that full disarmament is a precondition. Despite Israeli objections, the Peace Council stressed Hamas's commitment to the agreement, contrary to statements made by Hamas representatives in the media.

On Friday, Kan 11 News reported that the council expects the implementation of a 15-point document aimed at ending the war in Gaza to begin soon. According to the agreement, Hamas will halt military activities, including rearmament, during the first two weeks, after which the disarmament process will start. Concurrently, Israel is also expected to cease fire, in line with an agreement signed in October of the previous year.

Sources indicated that Hamas has conveyed its approval of the document to the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. In related developments, a political official stated that Israel will not retreat from its "red line" before Hamas is fully disarmed.
