Former Maccabi Netanya Owner Eli Segev Passes Away at 73
Eli Segev, the former owner of Israeli football club Maccabi Netanya, has died at the age of 73. Segev was a key figure at the club from 2013 to 2014, leading one of the two investor groups that acquired the team ahead of the 2013/14 season alongside Yossi Maor. During his tenure, while the club was in the National League, Maccabi Netanya secured promotion back to the Premier League and reached the State Cup final, where they were defeated by Ironi Kiryat Shmona. Segev announced his departure from the club in November 2014 after just over a year in charge. He passed away in Johannesburg and will be buried in Israel.
