Three Men Drown in Deadly Weekend at Israel's Carmel Coast Beaches

A tragic weekend unfolded along Israel's Carmel Coast beaches with three men drowning and several others critically injured. On Saturday, a 61-year-old man from Haifa drowned near Neve Yam beach close to Atlit. Emergency teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) provided medical care at the scene and transferred him to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where he was pronounced dead.

Simultaneously, two other drowning incidents occurred. In Herzliya, a 65-year-old man was pulled unconscious from the water and rushed to Ichilov Hospital in critical condition after advanced resuscitation efforts by paramedics. In Netanya, a 71-year-old man was also rescued unconscious and transported to Laniado Hospital while undergoing CPR, with his condition described as critical.

This weekend's fatalities mark the fifth drowning incident in just one week along the Carmel Coast. Earlier in the week, a 44-year-old woman was rescued in moderate condition near Neve Yam, a 76-year-old woman died after drowning near Shdot Yam, and musician Israel Kozuchi drowned at Binyamin Beach, with his death confirmed at Rambam Hospital. Another man in his 60s was hospitalized in serious condition after drowning near Neve Yam on Thursday.

MDA paramedics highlighted the severity of the incidents, noting the rapid response and ongoing resuscitation efforts. The spate of drownings has raised concerns about beach safety in the region during the summer season.
