Northern Israel Woman Charged with Extensive Drug Trafficking Involving Her Minor Daughters
A woman in her 50s from northern Israel has been indicted for running a large-scale drug distribution network across the region, including areas under active rocket fire. According to the indictment filed in July 2026 by the Beit She'an police and the regional prosecution, she operated a fast and reliable delivery service that covered dozens of kibbutzim, moshavim, and cities from the northern border to Haifa and the Krayot. The investigation revealed she sold cannabis and cannabis oil, sometimes accompanied by her minor daughters who were present in the car during transactions.
The police began investigating in May 2026 after intelligence reports indicated drug sales in the Emek HaMaayanot and Gilboa areas. Undercover surveillance over two months documented multiple live drug deals, including sales to a 17-year-old buyer. Police seized about 4 kilograms of cannabis and cannabis oil from her home and vehicle, with street values estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels. Analysis of her cellphone and Telegram app activity showed hundreds of transactions over roughly a year, with customers ordering via encrypted groups and receiving deliveries within 30 to 40 minutes.
Police described her as using various wigs to disguise her identity and operating a network that earned tens of thousands of shekels monthly. The indictment includes 11 counts of drug import, export, trade, conspiracy, use of a vehicle for crime, and endangering minors. Prosecutors emphasized the defendant often conducted sales while accompanied by her daughters, though she claimed to have taught them to avoid drugs. Her defense attorneys argued the indictment covers only a few small-scale cannabis sales, disputing the police's initial portrayal of the case and promising to review all evidence thoroughly.
The case highlights concerns about the increased accessibility of drugs through digital platforms, with police warning that drug deliveries have become as fast and convenient as food deliveries. The trial is set to proceed in the Tiberias Magistrate's Court, with authorities aiming to convict her as a major drug dealer in the northern district.
