Northern Israel Woman Accused of Running Drug Network Using Her Minor Daughters

A woman from northern Israel and her two minor daughters, aged 15 and 17, were arrested following a covert investigation by the Beit She'an police on suspicion of operating a drug trafficking network. Authorities allege the mother managed the network for about two years and involved her daughters in distributing drugs across various parts of the country. The investigation, which lasted approximately two months in the Northern District, uncovered evidence of dozens of drug transactions. During a hearing at the Tiberias Magistrate's Court, police revealed that over 500 pieces of evidence related to drug trafficking were found on the mother's mobile phone. While the daughters were released from custody, the mother's detention was extended, and an indictment is expected to be filed against her early next week.

The defense attorneys, Ben Maoz and Eden Amos, argued that the police have not completed all necessary investigative steps within the allotted time and requested a reduction in the mother's detention period. They also accused the police of conducting a "spectacular media campaign" to exaggerate the case, claiming a significant gap between the evidentiary reality and the police's public portrayal. The lawyers emphasized that attempts to implicate the minor daughters lack factual basis and appear to be undue pressure on the mother during the investigation. They expressed confidence that as the legal process unfolds, the disparity between the police's dramatic headlines and the actual evidence will become clear.
