Northern Israel Residents Indicted for Over 10 Drug Deals via Social Media
The prosecution has filed charges against two residents from northern Israel, a 27-year-old man from Safed and a 30-year-old woman from Yaarim, for conducting more than ten drug transactions in the northern region. The police initiated an operation in early April in Kiryat Shmona, where they stopped a speeding vehicle. Officers detected a strong smell of drugs emanating from the car, and a search uncovered cannabis divided into dozens of small bags along with thousands of shekels in cash.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspects operated under several social media aliases, including "King of Cannabis" and "North Chico the Travel Guide." Law enforcement traced 11 different customers from northern Israel, including residents of Kiryat Shmona, the conflict line area, and northern Golan Heights, who had purchased drugs from the suspects. The indictment follows these findings, highlighting the use of social media platforms for drug distribution in the region.
