Former PM Residence Worker Files Harassment Lawsuit Against Sara Netanyahu

Yechiel Ohev Ami, 61, a former operations assistant at the Prime Minister's residence, filed a lawsuit on Friday at the Regional Labor Court accusing Sara Netanyahu, wife of the Prime Minister, of severe and ongoing harassment. The complaint details verbal abuse including shouting, insults, and humiliations, as well as physical assaults on three occasions. Ohev Ami claims Sara Netanyahu pushed him against a wall while shouting derogatory names and wished him cancer and death after a smoking break.

The lawsuit also describes Sara Netanyahu's extreme reactions during protests outside the residence, including frequent calls to Interior Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, expressing fear that protesters would enter her home. Ohev Ami alleges this stress led to unprovoked outbursts against him, with daily verbal abuse intensifying. On December 15, 2025, during a dispute, Sara Netanyahu reportedly claimed to be Israel's top psychologist, diagnosed him as being on the autism spectrum, and demanded payment for the diagnosis, despite his prior disclosure that his son is on the spectrum. This incident caused him severe distress and hospitalization.

The breaking point came on February 5, 2026, after Sara Netanyahu and her son Yair returned from a US trip. She was angry over how he swept leaves and shouted at him, while Yair Netanyahu allegedly grabbed his hand and demanded he leave the residence immediately, accusing him of not changing or washing bed linens. Ohev Ami was forced to stay outside for about four hours and was summoned for a dismissal hearing two days later. During the hearing, he revealed misuse of the residence's credit card for personal food purchases by staff.

Ohev Ami also described his daily routine, including waiting for Sara Netanyahu to wake up, preparing breakfast in the security kitchen, and serving it in multiple rounds. Minor mistakes, such as serving a fried egg on a deep plate, triggered yelling and insults. He was required to clean the kitchen floor on his hands and knees with small wipes, clean the soles of the Netanyahus' dozens of shoes without touching inside, and wipe Sara Netanyahu's personal items and luggage wheels. After the couple returned from the US with food packages, he was reprimanded for placing them in the wrong kitchen and had to repeatedly carry luggage downstairs and back up to lay plastic bags underneath.

Ohev Ami demands approximately 300,000 shekels in damages for the alleged mistreatment.
