Former Prime Minister’s Residence Worker Sues Over Alleged Abuse by Sara Netanyahu

Rami Ben Hamo, a former household employee at the Prime Minister’s residence, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday at the Jerusalem Regional Labor Court against the Prime Minister’s Office, accusing Sara Netanyahu of extreme mistreatment during his employment from March 2023 to December 2025. Ben Hamo demands 450,000 shekels in compensation, citing daily verbal abuse, excessive work hours, and humiliating treatment, including derogatory remarks about his Moroccan origin.

According to the lawsuit, Ben Hamo worked long hours, often starting at 7:30 a.m. and finishing late at night, sometimes after midnight, accumulating 60 to 80 overtime hours monthly. He alleges that Sara Netanyahu subjected him to constant shouting, insults, and unreasonable demands, such as cleaning her personal bag and shoes repeatedly and washing his hands over ten times a day. He also claims she called him "an underdeveloped Moroccan" multiple times, a remark that deeply hurt him.

The suit details worsening behavior after Ben Hamo underwent heart surgery in February 2025, including being yelled at to "find someone else" and accused of poor cleaning. He was also pressured to work on the Sabbath despite his religious observance. When he expressed his inability to continue due to health and mistreatment, he was forced to write a resignation letter citing personal reasons rather than the abuse.

The complaint highlights an incident where Sara Netanyahu angrily threw a bottle on the floor and shouted at him over improperly folded plastic bags. The Prime Minister reportedly witnessed part of the conflict but asked Ben Hamo to leave the residence. Security personnel summoned another employee, Yechiel Ohev Ami, who had also filed a similar lawsuit last month, to assist during the incident.

The Prime Minister’s Office responded by calling the allegations "fake news" and a politically motivated campaign by Channel 12 and opposition figures ahead of elections, accusing them of recycling false rumors to defame the Netanyahu family.

Ben Hamo’s lawsuit accuses the Prime Minister’s Office of violating labor laws, causing emotional distress, and breaching good faith obligations, seeking compensation for both non-monetary damages and unpaid overtime totaling 450,000 shekels.
