Former Prime Minister’s Residence Worker Sues Sarah Netanyahu for Alleged Workplace Abuse

Yechiel Ohev Ami, a former employee at the Prime Minister’s residence, filed a lawsuit against the Prime Minister’s Office at the Jerusalem Regional Labor Court demanding 300,000 shekels in compensation for alleged workplace harassment by Sarah Netanyahu. Ohev Ami, 61, who has a child on the autism spectrum, began working in September 2025 as an operations assistant at the residence. He claims he was subjected to humiliating treatment from the start, including strict demands to follow Sarah Netanyahu’s instructions, early work hours starting at 6 a.m., and late finishes sometimes into the early morning.

According to the lawsuit, Ohev Ami was required to prepare breakfast exclusively in the security staff kitchen and serve it in multiple rounds according to detailed instructions. Any minor deviation, such as the type of plate or how vegetables were cut, allegedly resulted in shouting, insults, and derogatory names. He also claims he had to clean dozens of shoes daily with wipes without touching inside them, clean Sarah Netanyahu’s personal bag, luggage wheels, and utensils, and wash his hands and remove his shoes every time he entered the residence.

The complaint details further humiliations, including being forced to clean the kitchen floor on his stomach with small wipes, clean cutlery before washing, and endure verbal abuse during protests near the residence. Ohev Ami alleges Sarah Netanyahu physically pushed him on three occasions and once wished him cancer and death. The most severe incident reportedly involved Sarah Netanyahu claiming to be Israel’s top psychologist, diagnosing him as autistic, and demanding payment for the "diagnosis," which deeply affected him given his son’s condition.

Following these events, Ohev Ami’s physical and mental health deteriorated, leading to hospitalization and a pacemaker implantation. The final incident occurred on February 5, 2026, after Sarah Netanyahu and her son returned from the U.S., when she angrily confronted him about sweeping leaves and her son Yair Netanyahu demanded he leave the residence immediately. Ohev Ami was dismissed on February 19, 2026, after a hearing.

The Prime Minister’s Office strongly denied all allegations, calling them baseless and part of a long-standing pattern of extortion attempts against Sarah Netanyahu. They stated Ohev Ami was dismissed for professional shortcomings after a thorough process and that the claims surfaced only after his termination. The office promised a detailed legal response during the court proceedings.
