Former Cleaner Sues Israeli PM's Residence Over Harsh Conditions and Racist Insults by Sara Netanyahu

A former cleaner at the Israeli Prime Minister's residence, Rami Ben Hamo, has filed a lawsuit against the Prime Minister's Office demanding 450,000 shekels. Ben Hamo, who worked there for over two and a half years, alleges he endured verbal abuse, including being called a "backward Moroccan" by Sara Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's wife. He claims he was forced to perform unreasonable and exhausting tasks, such as cleaning Sara Netanyahu's shoes with wipes, and that his complaints to supervisors were ignored. According to the lawsuit, the stressful conditions led to a heart attack requiring hospitalization, and in December 2025, he was transferred to work in the Prime Minister's office due to his deteriorating health.

The Netanyahu camp categorically denies all allegations, labeling the lawsuit as "fake news" and part of a politically motivated "witch hunt" that intensifies during election periods. They accuse the opposition, including figures like Benny Gantz, Yair Golan, and Mansour Abbas, of orchestrating a shameless campaign to undermine the Prime Minister and his family. The response also dismisses the claims as recycled false rumors from the past, repeated weekly to damage the Netanyahus' reputation.

This legal dispute adds to ongoing controversies surrounding working conditions at the Prime Minister's residence and highlights the tense political climate ahead of upcoming elections. The case is currently pending, with the Prime Minister's Office rejecting all accusations and framing them as politically driven.
