67-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Taxi in Nahariya, Daughter Injured

A 67-year-old woman was fatally struck by a taxi on Ben-Zvi Boulevard in Nahariya on Friday. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams arrived at the scene and provided initial medical treatment before transporting her to the Galilee Medical Center in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead. Her 27-year-old daughter, who was also hit, sustained moderate injuries to her limbs and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The 76-year-old taxi driver suffered minor injuries and received care in the emergency room. Police traffic investigators have opened an inquiry into the circumstances of the accident.

Senior MDA medic Reut Mashali described the incident as a severe traffic accident involving two pedestrians hit by the vehicle. She detailed that the older woman was unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and had multiple traumatic injuries. Despite resuscitation efforts, the woman’s condition was critical upon hospital arrival. The younger pedestrian was also treated and evacuated with moderate injuries.

This incident follows a similar fatal pedestrian accident about three weeks earlier in Hod Hasharon, where an approximately 80-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle at the Ramatayim intersection. In that case, MDA paramedics found the man unresponsive and declared him dead at the scene. The driver was detained for investigation.
