Givati Battalion Fighters Protest After Commander Destroys Unit Symbols

Fighters from the Sabra Battalion of the Givati Brigade explained their decision to abandon the Sde Teyman base in protest against their battalion commander’s order to destroy signs displayed at the base. The soldiers said they had fought for a long time in Gaza and Lebanon, and each company has a container where its equipment is stored. During an inspection of these containers by the commander and officers, the commander broke signs that are part of the company’s tradition without any justified reason. The soldiers emphasized that these signs are symbols that have accompanied the company for years, and breaking them damages the spirit of the fighters. They declared, "When you break these symbols, you don’t just break a piece of wood or a sign, you break something of the fighters’ spirit. We will no longer remain silent."
